Exploring the science of startups

Random Team Generator

I’ve launched fully into my HigherEd teaching career recently, having landed my first full-time faculty position this past summer. This means lots of course prep.

A new graduate course I’m prepping, Change Management and Consulting, will have four group projects for the 48 students. So, 4 groups times 12 students times 4 projects mean a lot of random group assignments just for this one section.

I created this Google Sheet for creating the random group assignments (based off a Youtube video, of course).

Random Team Generator

If you would like to use it or modify it, just go to the Sheet and make a copy into your own Google Drive account (look under the File menu). Then follow the four-step directions in the Google Sheet.

Sign up to explore the intersection of evidence-based knowledge and hands-on startup experience.

Feature Box

Several times a month you’ll receive an article with practical insight and guidance on launching and growing your business. In addition, you’ll be exposed to interesting, influential or useful research, framed for those in the startup community.

  1. Kevin, Congratulations!

I see and support your vision.

I am at a critical point in my on entrepreneurial journey.
I continue to operate my restaurant, a tavola, I started 24 years ago.
I am about 2 years into developing a technology solution for restaurant menu profitability.
I have applied my knowledge of the hospitality industry, my time in EO Accelerator, 10KSB, active mentorship and focused networking toward the success of this project.

I would love to throw my project in the ring for your entrepreneurial projects for your students to dissect and perfect.

    Menuprofitsolution.com is the current name.
The the real application is allowing restaurants to know their costs to the plate and cocktail level dynamically.
It focuses on showing the gross margin dynamically.
This is valuable to manufacturers and distributors to understand exactly how their ingredients are used.

My application is at MVP now.
I am starting testing with restaurants.
I have met with food distributors.

If there is any interest on your student’s end or you may see something of value in another area, please do not hesitate to reach out.

    Regards,
    Dan Bocik
